Over the past few years Startup Victoria has firmly established itself as one of the preeminent organisations dedicated to educating, networking and inspiring founders in Australia. They have worked tirelessly to build a community with a strong drive to discover and create more startup founders and better startup founders. Their growth and journey takes an exciting step forward as they have announced a search for a new CEO.

Startup Victoria is one of the largest entrepreneurship groups in Australia and organises some of the biggest and most anticipated startup events in Melbourne including the highly regarded ‘above all human’ curated by Susan Wu and Brownen Clune.

The CEO role is a rare opportunity to lead an organisation already experiencing enormous success within the Startup community, as evidenced by their growing community of 10,000+. The role offers incredible exposure to amazing entrepreneurs, a supportive government and essential financiers.

Chairman and co-founder Leni Mayo says: “Startup Victoria has what startup people describe as “product/market fit”. It’s time to “professionalise”, and to capitalize on the opportunities that abound. There’s so much to do, so many areas we could be contributing, but it’s one step at a time.”

Scott Handsaker who along with Leni co-founded Startup Victoria and who has been Acting CEO added “We have spent the last two years getting Startup Victoria to a position of stability, in order to support future growth and expansion. It is now time for the right person to take charge and make a tremendous impact on the Melbourne startup ecosystem.

The operational aspects of the role are similar to any small business — a mix of people management, sales, marketing, finances, etc. The role will also manage relationships with founders, government, the Board and the investment communities along with growing the Startup Victoria community, including startup founders, members, speakers and sponsors.
